Store Front Project 01.23.2026

PROJECT 2, Staging Upper Store Front

I recorded initial thoughts, as well as thoughts throughout the building of this board. For reference, or to get more of my direction, refer here.

My effort in this project is not as much a re-design but more of a re-arrange. Putting pieces and products in places where the energy of the room can flow. Allowing guest eyes to wander in awe, not overwhelm, and admiration for the feeling of productivity and use of BF mission and products.

I look as the upper store as the “kitchen” and lower store the “pantry and “stores”.

Utilizing rescourses / shelving we already have.

Cheeses pair well with many things. My favorite being an apple or really any whole fruit, crackers, small meats. My hope for the display is that it feels like cheese could be eaten with snack around it. Wrapped in parchment paper and stored for home.

An important emphasis retail must always make on fresh foods, is to wash your produce. This also gives room to have a freelance display, one that is put in order based on what season the garden is serving. A table dressed in greens. Creating a true market.
Corrective lighting, to compliment the natural light.
Natural element displays. Arranged, or not.
Simple print, preferably changed out to highlight the season.
Curated Shelve, to mimic kitchen / pantry stores.
Water offering, as a simple gester, engaging guest.
Boxed Produce, organized.
Secondary display, to highlight, specailty pastry / goods.
Linen curtain. Putting overstock below, to minamize / organize chaos.

Removing paper signage from entryway. Welcome seating.
Displayed / preserved in a cooler, surrounded by  color.

1. Pastry case, add baking paper to the bottom to offer a clean sanitary look. Add layers in the display case, a single glass shelf dividing the middle, or individual wood / cake stands. Minimize the amount of one pastry added to the display. Keep the rest preserved for restock. Removing hard goods on the glass. Rather keep pastry slips / boxes there.

2.Relieve the hooks. Displaying only few bags / aprons. Folding or moving bags.  Add a wooden stool, condence and take out unessecary stands. Re-arranging in seasons

3.Front cooler spaces, replace quantity with variety.
Cheese display, produce, fruit, highlighted jars.
A grab and go display.

4. Cheese display / produce / fruit in cooler near the register. Allowing an occasional spray and arrangement by casheirs when needed.

5. Minimize Front table, add natural element. Balance of hard goods and perishables.

6.Condense hard goods. Open up window space by putting smaller products. Wood bundles to the outside wall. or small pile in back of store.

7.Clean windows, move signage to a news boards. Add window stools. Bring folliage. Plant perrinials to liven the season. Forage an outside display.

CHRISTMAS BOARD 01.19.2026

PART 1:
Create a mood board illustrating how winter retail should be represented in the store. Rather than a traditional Christmas theme, imagine how Ballerina Farms would uniquely design a winter experience.

Winter is the time after the animals have gone to harvest and our food preserves are set away ready to be crafted with. Inside our homes our minds grow and relationships stregthen.
GARLANDS
Wool
 Paper Stars
Foraged Winter Firs
Framed Seasonal Paintings
Bakery Plated Goods
Natural Elements
Symbols/Stars
Part 2:
Source six items you would use to bring this mood board to life. Be budget-conscious, but still aim for a high elevated look.

These six items, incorporated into the store displays, acting as gifts and decor. Usage goes beyond the holiday season. Warmth. Natural Fibers.

Muskhane Felt Cushion
Paper Garland
Wool Hot Water Bottle
Linen Tea Towels
Notebook / Planner
Ceramic

Part 3:
We’re creating holiday cookie packaging. Provide a mood board that captures the desired look and feel for this packaging. Draw inspiration from brands you admire and think outside the box.
A paper slip for your cookie...the simple, most sustainable way. Dressed with a ticking stripe and hand stamped Ballerina Farms logo.
